The Trustees of Borehamwood Foodbank just want to say a huge thank to all those people who generously donated a variety of foods during the recent collection at our local Tesco store – a magnificent 1,906.4 kilos in total ! That will go a long way to helping our clients who struggle to cope, especially at Christmas, which is not always such a happy time for those who live with poverty, poor housing, ill-health or unemployment. Because you donated lots of Christmas puddings, cakes, biscuits etc we will be able to give a bag of assorted festive items to everyone who comes to us, in addition to their usual bags of food, of course. We would also very much like to say how grateful we are to our hardworking volunteers who helped to run the sessions at Tesco, who gathered up all 1,906.4 kilos of donations, then sorted and stored them at the Foodbank on the following Monday. We couldn’t do any of this without you.
