The Borehamwood Foodbank has been chosen as the nominated charity by Borehamwood Youth FC. The club has 18 teams ranged from under 7s to under 18s who will organise fundraising events to help support the Foodbank’s work to provide food, help and advice to people in need.
Dave Huckle, Chairman for Borehamwood Youth FC, said:
“Our development officer saw people he knew in the queue, waiting for food at the Foodbank, and after doing some research he put the Foodbank forward as the club wanted to support an important local cause when people in the community needed it most.”
The Foodbank is open twice every week and last year over 2,500 three-day emergency food supplies were given to people in crisis in Borehamwood alone.
