Harvest Festival Haul

25th October 2021

We’ve been overwhelmed by all the food that local schools and community organisations have collected and donated to us at the Borehamwood Foodbank over the past few weeks. We rely on these donations to help people in need in the community – especially as we enter the colder Autumn and Winter months.

A huge thanks to Monksmead, Summerswood, St Teresa’s, Radlett Preparatory and Habs Boys schools, and many other community organisations which have donated food by the trolley load as part of their annual harvest collections. The juice cartons, tea and coffee, pasta and rice, tinned meat, vegetables and desserts are put into food packs that create meals for at least three days, and they are handed out to people in need at the Borehamwood Foodbank’s twice-weekly sessions at St Teresa’s Church in Shenley Road.

As part of the food drives, the children learn about how their donations are helping the local community, and many of the schools say they value how the Foodbank supports their families throughout the year so when they have the opportunity they want to give back.

Thank you to everyone who has donated!
