We have welcomed our first group of Duke of Edinburgh (DoE) students to help us in the Foodbank.
The nine students, who are completing their Silver DoE, will volunteer at the Foodbank over the next six months.
Over this time they will complete a packing session every Monday evening to ensure that we are fully stocked with bags for our Thursday Foodbank sessions. They will also complete one fundraising project, join us for Easter family lunches and hopefully our next Tesco collection, too!
Our first session in March was a delight. So much work was completed with such energy and enthusiasm, and we’ve had great feedback that this has reduced the pressure on the Thursday packing team.
