Borehamwood Foodbank – Cost of Living Crisis Appeal

Last year Borehamwood Foodbank supported over 10,250 people across the area with emergency food parcels, but Covid19 and the Cost of Living Crisis are impacting the service from several sides.

Covid19 and the Cost of Living Crisis are impacting Borehamwood Foodbank in a number of ways

1. We are sadly seeing increased demand across Borehamwood and only expect this to get higher.

2. We are seeing a reduction in donations as people’s shopping habits are changing.

3. A number of our regular volunteers are from at risk groups so unable to work currently.

We need your urgent help to fund the purchase the of food that is required to fill this gap.

How you can help

If you can donate food then please donate at one of these locations – https://borehamwood.foodbank.org.uk/

More about Borehamwood Foodbank

First opened in April 2013, last year our Foodbank fed 10,252 people over a third of which were children.

Open twice a week, we are working hard to provide emergency food. Last year 54% of the people visiting the foodbank were working, often full time and could not make ends meet being on zero hour contracts or part of the gig economy.

Additionally, We also host Family lunch events where families can enjoy a healthy meal with the opportunity to learn new recipes and even help cook their own lunch!

Our Foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our area.
